Much Needed Update...

My apologizes to all my loyal blog followers. I know it's been a while. There may only be one or two of you left now, but I appreciate your continued support. There is so much I need to catch you all up on. In no particular order...

First, I am currently pregnant with baby number two. The sweet little bundle with arrive on or around May 5 (yes, cinco de Mayo).  We will be having another little girl. We are so thrilled. I am so excited to be having another girl (not that boys are bad though). My mom did say that if her have a boy it will be the first boy in the maternal line since 1850s. I guess we are destined to have all girls. Yay for more pink and bows. Honestly, with two little ones so close together I was hoping for the same gender. I pray they grow up to be life long best friends. As an only child I have always longed for that sisterly bond (particularly now in adulthood.)
First ultrasound of baby number two
Genevieve is going to have a little sister!
This pregnancy has been entirely different. I was sick and nauseous from week 7 to 11. I pretty much lived on PB&J sandwiches. Nothing really sounded good to eat. I often would make dinner for my family and by the time it was on the table I couldn't eat it. I was/am exhausted. Luckily for me the federal government was shut down during the worst of the first trimester so Josh was home with me and able to watch Genevieve while I napped in the afternoons. I have had many ultrasounds this time around. Nothing of huge concern but my placenta is low so they are keeping an eye on it. A low placenta can cause too much bleeding during labor/delivery and they often recommend a c-section to prevent this. I believe I will find out this coming Tuesday if due to it's position they will recommend a c-section. My last ultrasound 6 weeks ago was promising that it will be out of the way. Prayers that the placenta has moved and a c-section will not be necessary. I've put on a bit more weight than I did with Genevieve (plus the last 10 pounds that I wasn't able to get off before from pregnancy number one) has really taken it's effect on me. I am pretty much miserable all the time and keeping up with a toddler with this much weight is difficult.

Baby girl number two will be named Eleanor. Middle name is still undecided. We do know that it will start with a "J".  Names we have been considering are Jo, Josephine, and Jane. I have had some item monogrammed so I think we are going with this unless the ultrasounds have been wrong and baby number two is actually a boy.

Second, Genevieve is growing leaps and bounds. She is 20 months now. I don't know where my little baby went. She is always on the move. She is constantly surprising me. Today on our way out of Home Depot, she pointed to the riding lawn mowers and said "tractor." She is really starting to talk and repeat things to us. I am surprised where things come from. She will do or say things that I don't remember teaching her.

She loves Elmo, slides, animals, climbing in our bed to get under the covers, cleaning up, music and baby dolls. She is becoming attached to her John Deere bear and pink and grey blanket. Often times when we leave the house she has to take her bear, baby doll or play purse with her.

We have signed her up for a three-day a week preschool starting in the fall. I am scared that she would have gotten too bored at home with me and the baby. The preschool will give her interaction with other kids, teachers and toys. She had such a great time a preschool this year that I couldn't imagine not sending her again in the fall. This preschool does have a slightly different set up. She will  be going from 8:30-12 Monday, Wednesday and Friday with lunch and nap time now at home with me. (See third update below for why she isn't going back to her old preschool.)

Third, (kind of a two parter) we have moved to Cartersville, Georgia. I know crazy right! Cartersville is about 45 minutes northwest of Atlanta. The move was two fold - a career change for Josh and wanting to be closer to family members.

For as long as I've know Josh, he has been interested in real estate. Well he finally decided to take the plunge and become a real estate agent. He took a class last August and started to get certified. We decided that if he was going to make a career change that we should pursue the option of moving away from the DC area. Right around this time we discovered I was pregnant with baby number two. This gave us the added push to want to be around family. Our options were either Northern Indiana or Cartersville, Georgia. We wanted our kids to grow up knowing there aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Josh's older sister and family are located here. We look forward to our girls growing up together. The currently live less than 10 minutes down the road and see each other 3-4 times a week.

Josh has finished up getting his real estate license and has picked a brokerage to work with. He seems very excited about getting to work. He is expecting to receive his new business cards on Monday, then he can really get to work. He does have different hours now and we are enjoying having him around in the mornings. We know that as he get busier though we will see less of him on weekday evenings and weekends. I am so happy for Josh to be in job he loves and has a passion for. I can already see a difference in him.

We moved to Cartersville in mid-February. So we have been here a little over a month. So far we are really enjoying our new town. It is much smaller than I think we expected. We are starting to meet new people and get into a routine.
Goodbye DC

I think that's all the updating for now. Those are some pretty big updates though. I hope to be more regular in posting on here. Please feel free to bug me if I'm not posting enough.
