Can you see it?

15 Weeks and 1 Day

I've been saying for a while that I feel like I have a bump and everyone says they do not notice it. Today Josh finally agreed with me that there was something there. Keep in mind that I just finished eating a delicious Chinese dinner before this picture was taken.

Our next OB appointment is a week from today on the 7th. If Cider cooperates we may be able to find out if we have a boy Cider or girl Cider.

Week 14 - My Hips Don't Lie

Yesterday began week 14, which means I have official entered the second trimester.

Everyone keeps asking me how I am feeling. I am doing great, other than...
1. I am really tired. Although, it is a lot better than it was from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Part of that is probably my fault. I should go to bed earlier than my normal 10 to 10:30 but I never remember that until 10pm. I do occasionally take naps which are wonderful.
2. My hips/lower back are killing me. I have research it and talked to moms at preschool and they all say it is normal. I am experience it a bit early in the pregnancy but it is not unheard of. I am still in the process of researching and trying out possible ways to lesson the pain.

Two friends from church have loaned me their maternity clothes. I am completely overwhelmed with their generosity. It has been a huge pleasing to us. In fact, I got two huge trash bags full of clothes today. I need to going through and sorting the clothes tomorrow on my day off. Since I am not really showing yet, I do not have a strong need for maternity shirts. Obviously, I cannot wear shorts and capris in winter but will definitely need them closer to my due date.

26 weeks to go...

Ultrasound Pictures - Round Two

Above are Baby Cider's ultrasound pictures from our second appointment on January 13, 2012 - 12 weeks and 4 days.

I think this when it sunk into Josh that we are having a baby. The second picture was actually the first one the doctor took (I don't quiet understand this whole uploading pictures to blogger nonsense). While looking at this view of Baby Cider, the doctor proceeded to count the baby's fingers for us. It is amazing to think that at only 12 weeks the baby already has fingers. Wow!

The third and fourth pictures are done in 4D, I believe. Towards the end of the appointment Baby Cider woke up from it's nap and we got to see it move around. I still do not feel it yet.

The doctor looked to see if he could tell us which gender Baby Cider is. I did not think I was far enough along for him to be able to see anything but Josh was interested in knowing. The doctor said he had a 70-30 guess it was a.... You'll have to wait and see if his prediction was correct.

The doctor did take look at Baby Cider's nose and took some measurements of it's neck flap to determine if there is any risk of Down's Syndrome. Baby Cider tested well within the normal ranges.

The doctor informed me that I'm not getting enough water - 80oz is my goal. That is a lot of water! And you know what happens when you drink a ton of water? You make many trips to the restroom.

First Ultrasound Pictures

Here are the first two ultrasound pictures of Baby Cider. They are from our first appointment on December 13, 2011 - 8 weeks and 1 day.

I apologize for the quality of the pictures. Our scanner is currently not up and running, so I had to take a picture of the ultrasound using my camera.

If you are into details, you may notice that the doctor and I have a slight difference on our dating of Baby Cider. There is a difference of about four days, which is due to (this may be TMI here but...) I know my cycles are 32 days and not the "normal" 28 days of most women.

I guess this day had to come...

Yesterday was the first day that I wore maternity clothes. Sorry no pictures. The pants had a full panel belly and were completely different from my regular clothes. I guess it is something that I will have to get use to. I see the full panel belly pants being more beneficial has I get bigger. The shirt was just fine and pretty comfortable. Today I was back to my regular (pre-pregnancy) leggings.

Stay tuned this weekend as I plan to upload ultrasound pictures.

The Beginning of the Journey

In case you missed the official announcement on Facebook... WE ARE HAVING A BABY!! He or She is due July 24, 2012, which means I am currently 13 weeks along. What a huge answer to so many prayers. We are super excited.

To answer all your question. No, I never was sick. There were a couple of times when food tasted funny or when I was not very hungry, but no nausea or worse effects. Don't hate me too much. I have been super tired. Not as much anymore but it was really bad from about Thanksgiving to Christmas.

The baby's nickname is Cider. One of my lovely preschoolers thought of the name and it has just stuck with me.

I am just beginning to not fit into my regular clothes, mainly pants. Two fabulous friends of mine went shopping with me yesterday and helped me pick out a few pieces. Once I do laundry tomorrow, hopefully I will have a few more options. I am accepting donations of previously used maternity wear.
